Good morning Brent families,

In accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 135 issued by the Office of the President of the Philippines, in anticipation of heavy rains brought on by the monsoon, on-campus classes at Brent Subic are suspended today, Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Today, we will carry out our Flexible Learning Program with an important change with classes beginning at 9 a.m. for all grade levels:

New 9:00 a.m. Student Start

Moving forward, Flexible Learning Days will begin for students at 9:00 a.m. rather than 8:00 a.m.

The 8:00–9:00 a.m. period will be reserved for teacher preparation. This will give teachers the necessary time to adapt their in-person lesson plans and activities specifically for a virtual learning environment, prepare Google Classroom materials, organize Google Meet sessions, and ensure that learning activities are appropriate for students working from home. Students should check their regular learning platforms and email for instructions and meeting links.

Updated Student Schedule – Day 2 Classes
9:00–10:00 — Block 1
10:05–11:05 — Block 2
11:05–11:25 — Snack Recess / Screen Break
11:25–12:25 — Block 3
12:30–1:30 — Block 4

The afternoon support schedule will be:

1:30–2:00 p.m. — Required Teacher Check-Ins
2:00–3:00 p.m. — Student-Requested Extra Help

Teachers will use the 1:30–2:00 p.m. period to provide required check-ins for students who have been identified as needing additional academic support. These check-ins may address student progress, clarify assignments, provide additional instruction or feedback, or help students stay on pace.

From 2:00–3:00 p.m., students may request additional help from their teachers. Teachers will post available times through Google Classroom so students can sign up for support.

Students will not necessarily be online with their teachers for the entire class hour. Teachers will determine the appropriate balance of live instruction, independent work, assignments, and teacher support based on the needs of each class.

Our continued goal is to provide meaningful academic continuity while also giving teachers the necessary preparation time to create thoughtful and effective virtual lessons.

We will continue to review the Flexible Learning Plan and make adjustments based on the experiences and feedback of our students, families, and teachers.
