Letter from the Headmaster/Upper School Principal

Posted on Thu, 08/07/2014 (3:00pm)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Brent International School Subic for the 2017-2018 school year!

This year we welcome back many of our returning students and faculty, and we also greet with open arms some new faces to the Brent family. The beginning of a school year is a special time in a student’s life. It represents new beginnings, new challenges, and new goals. It could be a fresh start for some, or for others a chance to continue along a chosen path toward greatness. Either way, we here at Brent live to support each other’s academic learning and personal growth, together!

As a Brent student you are part of a long history of elevated standards and achievement. As a result, high expectations are placed upon you. We expect you to act in a way that represents your best self. This includes taking responsibility for your own actions and choices, and treating all members of the Brent community with respect and compassion. At Brent we value hard work. This means putting forth your best effort in all that you do; allowing you the opportunity to achieve your full potential. This philosophy is not limited to academics but also extends well beyond the classroom and into every aspect of your school life. We believe that academics are only one part of your educational experience, which is why we strongly encourage you to get involved in all that we have to offer. Explore the world of sports, drama, music, art, student government, and one or more of our many extra-curricular clubs. The future belongs to those with strong moral character, well-rounded experiences, and the drive to accept any challenge they may face. Our goal is to help you get there!

There is much that goes into a Brent education, and by keeping the lines of communication open we can better support all of our students. We encourage regular communication between students, parents, teachers, and the administrative team. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.

Let’s all have a wonderful school year!

Letter from the Middle School Principal

Middle School is an exciting and challenging time for children both educationally and socially.

At BISS we believe in the dignity and worth of each and every student and recognize the importance of their responsibilities to their fellow citizens in the community. We believe that our students should have opportunities for an education consistent with their individual capabilities and with their personal and social needs.

We believe in setting high expectations for students and staff alike. Although academic achievement will be a primary focus, our hope for the students at BISS is to also embrace high standards of civility, character, tolerance and trust. The students here at BISS will be presented with diverse and meaningful experiences that acknowledge each individual's intellectual, physical, social and emotional differences. Taking full advantage of these opportunities will certainly make the middle school years productive and enjoyable.

As our students grow and mature it is important to realize that they all can learn and achieve in the classroom and, at the same time, explore their own special interests in other areas.

Dear Parents and Students,

On behalf of the administration staff, let me extend you a most cordial welcome to the 2016-2017 School Year.

We the Brent International School Subic Lower School, are planning a great school year, full of learning, meaningful activities and community building experiences.

We hope that the child's educational experience is positive, gratifying, and ultimately establishes a sound educational foundation. The teachers work and plan to develop organized, appropriate, and meaningful lessons. We continue to grow as a team and we work hard to build a community. We also believe that communication between school and home is important and advantageous to a child's success in school.

With our exemplary staff, eager and ready to lean students, and supportive parents, we know that we will achieve success. Again, I look forward to this school year. You will find that my basic philosophy as an educator is that "Each Child is Someone's Most Treasured Possession." Thank you for this opportunity to share your child's growth and development!
