Welcome to The Second Semester at Brent International School, Subic. It promises to be an exciting and busy few months as we make our run-up to Graduation 2012.

A few notes:

Back in School
We have already been back in school for a week and most of us have returned to the routines that made us successful during the first semester. For those who struggled in the first semester, meetings are being organized between Students, Parents, the Guidance Counselor, and Upper School Principal. The focus of these meetings is how to help the students become more successful in the new semester and future semesters.

Report Card Receipts
Please have your son or daughter return the receipt of report card slip to either the homeroom teacher or the appropriate school level office. Please do this right away.

Health Issues
If your son or daughter is sick at home, do not send them to school. It only serves to spread the illness around the student body. Please keep sick children at home! Send them to school when they are healthy and no longer contagious.

ISAC in Baguio
January 18 – 22 is the ISAC Girls Basketball and Boys Soccer Tournament in Baguio. Our teams have been training hard and are ready to go. Good Luck to our Athletes. GO RAZORBACKS!

Letter from the Middle School Principal

2011 has been a very busy year at the Middle School. We are extremely proud of our student accomplishments. Among the different activities that our students have been engaged in are as follow.

Our students performed in the band and choir concert, auditioned for the MS/US production, participated in the BISS Christmas outreach and took an active role in other charity activities to aid the victims of Typhoons Pedring and Ramon. We have celebrated our BISS Spirit Week, House Spelling Bee, House Cross Country and a very successful Book Week.

Our swimming, cross-country and volleyball teams participated in different events. Our Soccer and Basketball teams continue to train hard in preparation for the different tournaments that are coming up. We are proud of their dedication and discipline.

Our student government representatives have been very active, planning activities for the students, but also offering their support in different school wide activities.

All this activity doesn't stop there. We have just welcomed a number of new students in seventh and eighth grades. Teachers are very busy planning the middle school camps and several other activities to enhance the learning that happens inside the classroom.

There are a lot of growing pains in the Middle School years. Our staff is working hard in providing all kinds of opportunities for our students to succeed. We are happy that our students have grown in all areas in the last few months, we will continue to offer as much support and encouragement as needed.
