Middle School

Brent Subic’s Middle School is composed of students from Grade Six through Eight.  Students are required to take classes in the core subject areas: English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art and Religious Studies.  They are asked to choose a Foreign Language: Spanish or Mandarin.  If a student is an English Language Learner (ELL), they will take ELL classes as their Foreign Language option.  Students can choose between Music and Band.  Students also take classes in Information Technology.

The Middle School recognizes that these middle years are often challenging.  The curriculum is challenging and prepares the student for our Upper School, while allowing time for character education.  Students meet with homeroom advisors every other day to discuss school, classes and personal issues.  The school’s guidance counselor is available for discussion and advice.

Middle school students are invited to participate in the after school club program, on sports teams and school sponsored social events.  This year, middle school students will participate in a two day retreat.  The camps goals are to create a community amongst the middle school students, learn about each other and have some fun along the way.

Students who graduate from Subic’s Middle School are prepared for the rigors of the Upper School.  They feel confident that the knowledge base learned and the skills mastered have them pointed clearly down the road of success.
