Measures of Academic Performance (MAP)
Map tests will be given to all grade 3-10 students in late August and early September of 2010. We will assess student progress in early May using MAP again. For more information on the MAP test and the results we will learn about our students please check the following link: http://www.nwea.org/support/article/930
A student ID will be issued to your child shortly. On the back there is a bar code that is used in the cafeteria to speed up food payments. It is also used in the libraries to checkout books. We ask that students keep the ID with them on campus.
In an attempt to increase our school safety, we have asked each student to purchase a “Master” lock. We will collect the combination code so we can access all lockers should the need arise.
The climate at Brent Subic has for its foundation three pillars; they are Safety, Respect and Pride. Students do not learn if they do not feel safe. Physical and emotional safety is fundamental to the learning process. Responsibility to oneself, for others and our community is this year’s chapel theme and it has for its roots a quote from (Luke 12:48). “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded”. Pride is also a foundational pillar. When students have pride they exert effort and expend time creating wonderful examples of their best work. They wear the uniform proudly and within the school guidelines. Students show pride by playing for school teams, athletically, academically and through the arts. Please help us to maintain high standards of our school community.
The cafeteria provides two hot lunch choices each day as well as a topping for rice. The lunch menu for the month can be found via a link on the front page of the school’s website. Students are asked to deposit money with the cafeteria and use their StudentID as a payment method. The cafeteria also sells fresh fruit, chips, soda, as well as baked items. Please speak with your children about healthy food choice and nutrition.
In order to keep our community healthy, our nursing staff comprised of Mrs. Christene Mendoza and Mrs. Gladys Evidente, asks for our cooperation in keeping sick students at home until they are fever free for 24 hours after being ill. Hand washing stations are provided for all community members to avail themselves of before entering the school or cafeteria. Thanks for your support in keeping a healthy community.
Do you know how your children are performing in classes? It is never too early to email your children’s homeroom teacher and ask. We know that student learning improves when families and school work together for children. Email address is simply the first letter of the teacher’s name followed by their last name @brentsubic.edu.ph. A list of all faculty email addresses can be found on the school’s website http://www.brentsubic.edu.ph. Please visit the school’s website for the latest school news, updates and activities.
Please make sure the school has your current contact information and address in case we need to reach you.
Thanks for your continued care in driving near/on campus. Students should be with a parent or guardian when coming onto campus after school hours.
